Wayward Child Is Home

I was beginning to think I’d never see her again, but about 6:30 Tuesday night as DH and I were driving around, he saw 2 black dogs in an unfenced yard. We stopped and low and behold, one of them was Mandy. And all we had to do was drive ½ mile further north than I’d gone before. Dang.

She’d been there almost the entire time. Guess because they fed her and the kids played with her, she didn’t see a reason to try to find home. Course, she was about 2 ½ miles north of the house and she’d started out south of home. Talk about missing your turn! Sheesh. Silly dog.

Once the girls had been reunited, Mandy had fetched the tennis ball for a while, then had her favorite chow, they both passed out. Mindy had to be touching her. See picture below.

Later, when we finally went to bed, Mandy went to sleep with a tennis ball in her mouth. Hmm. You’d think she missed that more than us. {snort} Should’ve gotten a picture of it but didn’t.

So thank you everyone that sent up prayers on her behalf. Your faith, and God’s will, finally brought her home.

[Major sigh of relief!!]

About Linda Trout

I'm a retired accountant who loves a little space around me. What better way to think of new story ideas than under a tall tree, birds chirping, gofers digging, dogs barking, and cats demanding to be in your lap? When I'm totally bored, I climb on my Harley and go for a ride. That'll blow the cobwebs out of your brain.

So glad she’s back home safe with Mindy and you guys!!

  2. Linda says:

Me, too! She’s a bit thinner cause she didn’t like the dog food they gave her and she did have to sleep outside. Other than that, she did ok. I can tell you, we’ll make sure the gate is LOCKED from now on whenever they’re in the yard. That was more than enough stress!

  3. I said it before, but so glad she’s home!! *hugs*
